5K & Crawfish

We have had one of the best weekends in a long time, filled with lots of great friends, food, and memories! Saturday morning, a group of us ran Laurel's annual Day in the Park 5K, and then we hosted a crawfish boil at our house. For the past several years, we have gotten together with Kyle's football friends from MC. This year we decided to host the event. Of course some friends from around here came too. The weather wasn't ideal. Somehow the rain held off, but it was very windy and humid all day. Several couples from out of town were able to come with their babies. It was so great to see them and catch up on old times.

Brantlee really didn't appreciate being woken up on a Saturday morning, but she tried her best to enjoy the festivities.

Harrison, Hudson & Collin just stood and tried to soak it all in.

Unfortunately, no one needed any shades for the event. We just knew we were about to get soaked any minute. Mom came along to help with the kiddos. She is the one who actually took all the pictures -Thanks Mom!!

Live crawfish were a first for Collin and Brantlee. Collin kept yelling at Brantlee not to touch them. That's our Collin- always the cautious one ;)

The guys did a fabulous job preparing the mud bugs. Thanks to Brian Madden for being the official cook!!
The aftermath
And thanks so much to the Pierce family for letting us borrow all the crawfish stuff!
Alli, Addison, and Collin jumped all afternoon in this thing. These sweet children are two of Collin's most favorite people right now.

Our dear friends Payton and Jan came with their 7 month old twin boys Preston and Pace. They spent the night last night. We truly had a blast hanging out with them! It was a little different than in years past- ha. Brantlee absolutely love seeing and playing with "real" babies. I had to watch her closely. She actually tried to feed Pace a chip at one point!! Collin and Pace hit the sack early, but Brantlee and Preston wanted to stay up and party past their bedtimes. But once everyone went to sleep, we all slept really well. We were all exhausted to say the least.

Relaxing and unwinding after a long, fun day

We really, really, really appreciate ALL the help for this weekend. We are so blessed with such helpful parents and friends!!
