Another school year down!

I always heard people say to just wait until your kids get in school... that's when time really does start to fly. And that statement could not be more true. Ummm... we have a 2nd grader!! And a Kindergartener!! It's just too much :(

For the month of May we stayed busy with the end of school for the kids and me. On Friday of Mother's Day weekend, B and I had Muffins with Mom and that is always such a sweet little event at school. The kids made pottery and a sweet card this year. She was so proud of her stuff!! That night we went out to dinner and had ice cream. Can't think of any better way to spend a Friday night than with these people below! On Mother's Day, we had lunch at our house with Nana and Lolly. We were having such a nice time socializing that I only took one picture :( Later that afternoon, Lolly and I hung out by the pool. I failed to take a picture there too :( Anyway, we could not be more grateful for our mothers. They truly are two of the most selfless and special ladies alive.

So our family has been a little obsessed with Frozen, understandably. We're getting better, or less obsessed I'll say. But the music has been such a huge part of all our lives ;) We had a family showdown with "Frozen" karaoke one night. Things got intense. And for the sake of our family stability, we just couldn't pick a winner. You really had to be there. Or maybe you didn't...

Even Ty knows "Let it Go" (aka "Go Go!!")

Baby girl is done with preschool. She had Fun Day on her last day of school. We're excited for her, but she was SO sad to leave her teacher, which really surprised us. More sadness over her teacher than her friends :( But now that she's getting to sleep late and swim all the time, the sadness has definitely faded, ha! She is more than ready for K5, but I still don't think it's going to be easy to send her!

Collin has completed 1st grade and has done wonderfully! He had Spring Fling then awards day. He met his goal with Accelerated Reader and earned Academic Achievement. He is reading up a storm, and I hope he always loves to read.

Brantlee welcomed summer with a slumber party/camp out (that lasted 10 minutes) at her friend Maddy's house.

I really have to brag on the hubs here with the garden. He works so hard on it!! We have been enjoying some delicious potatoes lately and we can't wait for what's hopefully to come!

We celebrated Memorial Day weekend, and ours was mostly spent outside in the sunshine or in the pool. We plan on doing this lots more. Our kids are going to grow fins, I think. Even Ty loves it. Don't let the picture below fool ya.

TyTy can't figure out what all the fuss is about with school letting out. He gets to live it up everyday. His little (or big) personality is changing more and more. He's becoming so grown up. He started going in the 2's class a little at church and sits at the table and acts like everyone else (instead of screaming nonstop for me.) He is talking so much lately. Still not in sentences that we can understand, but too many words to count. He is HILARIOUS!! He is obsessed with Elmo "Lala" and cars "caaas", which is basically anything that rolls ;)

Maybe my next update won't be a month away. But who am I kidding!

An interesting week

We've had a bit of excitement this week. Not necessarily the good kind. Our washing machine malfunctioned during the night Sunday night and we woke up to a partially flooded home Monday morning. Not exactly what we expected at 5:30 a.m.!!! We cleaned like maniacs trying to get the water up and get everyone dressed for work and school. Long story.... But we ended up with about 20+ blowers drying out our home for 3 days. It was SO loud!! And our living room floor and Collin's flooring will have to be replaced.

And while this ordeal has been a huge inconvenience, it doesn't compare to the devastation our area has experienced from tornado destruction this week. It could definitely be worse and I don't want to complain. It's just been ... an interesting week to say the least :)

Our week ended with a fun Saturday though! Today we went to Saylor's birthday party at Day at the Park and we got into all sorts of things there. Ty was only interested in the kettle corn tho.

And then it was on to Tate's Paw Patrol birthday party!! The kids swam (and froze) and we all had a great time. Tate loved his birthday!!

The weather today was so perfect and refreshing and just what we all needed after this crazy week!
