7 Months

Ty turned 7 months on the 3rd of this month, and I am so over myself that this post has been in draft mode almost 2 weeks. Anywho. This little boy is seriously on the verge of mobility and ... We. Aren't. Ready!!! Goodness he is such a little firecracker these days, ready to take on the world around him. Here is what he's up to (or been up to) at 7 months:

• He gains a lot of ground by rolling and scooting on his back. He gets on his hands and knees but can only go backwards. This usually leaves him very frustrated!
• He got bronchitis again and an almost ear infection which landed him on antibiotics again :( Then he fought off another nasty cold not long after that :( Oh spring time, could you please come a little early?!
• Sleep: I'm not going to comment on that this month, because with all his sickness many nights have felt like a newborn in the house again. Besides, sleep is totally overrated, right? (I wrote that a couple of weeks ago. He's sleeping through the night just fine again. Thank you Ty!)
• Before I tried to take these pictures, Ty grabbed the sticker out of my hands and crumbled it up. And that is typical Ty behavior right now. He tries to get his hands on everything he sees!
• He is sitting up great. He falls when he dives for toys and usually bumps his head on something. He is SUCH a busy body already!
• He is eating like a champ. I really think he would eat anything we are eating if we let him. He prefers homemade baby food with some consistency so he can chew his food. 
• He is also able to put food like Puffs and bites of bananas in his mouth. In other words, we are on HIGH alert for Legos and Barbie shoes being on the floor!
• He is still the sweetest little thing!

Parade, Superbowl & 100th Day

Last weekend we loaded up and drove to the Coast for a Mardi Gras parade. We don't really celebrate Mardi Gras and have never been to a parade, but we thought it would be fun! We did a little research and found some "family friendly" ones and decided to give one of them a try. The weather was beautiful! It was such a nice day to be outside. There were some questionable moments in the experience and we decided that "family-friendly" totally depends on the family ;) ;) But we had a great time and got LOTS of beads. If we go back next year, we might do a little more research first :)

We got there really early and needed some entertainment. The roadside vendor was more than happy to sell a few of his toys. 

Proud of his goods but couldn't comprehend that no one threw him any candy! ha!

On Sunday, we had to leave church early to get Collin to the doctor for a horrible cough! Turns out his ear was infected as well :( We got what seems like our 80th antibiotic filled for this season and headed home. The Burchfields didn't mind our germs and came over to watch the Superbowl anyway.

Looks like these girls were as interested in the game as I was, ha! And we were happy to share our beads obviously.  

Looks like cell phones with games have taken over this party. 

On January 30th, Collin and his K5 classmates celebrated 100 days of school!! And yes, Collin counted out every single piece of popcorn. We grouped them by 10s and then glued them. It is amazing what he and Brantlee are learning in school. I love to see the light bulb turn on when they've learned something new!
