Sun and Sand

Last week we went on our annual beach trip with Nana and Poppa. We can't thank them enough for such a wonderful trip! We stayed in Seagrove again this year and enjoyed it so much. We only dined out a few times the whole week. We kept it low key for the most part. The week started out a little shaky with some horrible weather and heavy rain. Sunday we went to the movies in Destin to see Epic, which turned out to be a fun day despite running to the theatre (a long way from this restaurant) in a lightning thunderstorm carrying kids who are screaming and laughing, thinking it's the best thing ever, ha! Oh the memories...

Luckily the rain cleared after the first couple of days and we enjoyed some nice weather. This year was the best the big kids have done at the beach. They really loved it! TyTy.... not so much. He tried to like the sand for about 10 minutes, and then he was over it. And I do mean OVER it! Nana would hold him while he took a morning nap on the beach so that bought us a little time. Here are some pics of us just beachin' it :)

One night we had dinner in Seaside. This little spot is the BEST place for a picture, especially at sunset.

Another night we went to Baytowne Warf in Destin to eat. Collin and Brantlee got into some fun activities there!

Probably the best thing they've ever done. Collin said it was better than Disney World, ha!

I tried to make some nice pictures on the beach one evening but Ty and sand don't mix. Plus my camera fogged up. Oh well.
So that was our trip! We cherish these trips and the precious memories we make with family, even though we return way more exhausted than when we left :) Thank you again Nana and Poppa!!

11 Months

Wow! One more month until Ty's birthday! It doesn't seem real, but it will be here before we know it, especially with the busy June we have planned. Ty is such a sport, so busy and curious, and keeps us constantly on our toes. He thinks he is as big as Brantlee and Collin and wants to do what they do.  This usually results in a bump or bruise for him and tears from brother and sister because he gets into their stuff ;)

 At 11 months Ty:

  • is walking everywhere. As of today he can go from the floor to standing without pulling up.
  • loves to eat!! Anything that we let him eat! And he eats a lot.
  • takes 4 six ounce bottles of formula.
  • is NOT too crazy about the sippy cup. Not sure how that transition will go.
  • jibber jabbers a lot and it sounds like he says "hey there" but maybe he means something else, ha
  • Claps and dances, especially when he knows we're looking ;)
  • wears mostly 18 months clothes, size 3 or 4 diapers, and size 4 shoe.
  • is early to bed (7:30 or 8:00) and early to rise (6:00) AFTER he gets in our bed around 5 a.m.
  • gets furious when we tell him "No,No". It really is hilarious.

So I got really lax this past week and Ty enjoyed his first (highly supervised!) sucker and oreo.

Now for some Memorial Day pictures! We spent the afternoon at Lolly and Poppy's and swam and grilled out. It was such a wonderful afternoon. They bought an inflatable water slide that is super fun. Even a few of us ladies got on it, but those pictures will NOT be shared on the blog :)

Our lively bunch

We are getting ready for a beach trip and VBS at church, enjoying playdates, swimming, and eating out of our garden and planning two special little boys' birthdays!! Loving summertime!
