Happy Easter!

We have celebrated Easter for a solid week! Between egg hunts at school and church and all of our other traditions, we can safely say we did it up right. So much fun with the kids at these ages. And so special too. They are trying to wrap their minds around why we celebrate Easter and it is so precious to hear their genuine questions about Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection and to see them try to grasp the magnitude of God's love for them. Goodness, I'm still trying to understand it all myself! :)

Brantlee and Fischer had their party at school on Wednesday. This was also Mrs. Freeman's birthday, so it was an extra special day!

Group birthday hug! This class of children is so precious and this school year has been such a blessing!

We threw some egg dyeing in on Wednesday also.

Thursday was Collin's party/egg hunt for K5.

It was a perfect spring day!

Friday night we made the good ole' bunny cake. It's a staple on Easter day and has been since I was little.

Rewind one week and we had our church egg hunt. The kids had indoor jumps and snacks. The rain held off for some egg hunting.

Easter morning we enjoyed some goodies from our baskets. We didn't have too much time to relax because we had an 8 o'clock service at church! We (somehow) made it to the service on time. It was a beautiful service and we enjoyed a church-wide breakfast right after.

Later that afternoon we had our traditional family Easter dinner at Lolly and Poppy's. We had a huge group of people, and it was simply fabulous!! We quickly hunted eggs before the rain started. All the kids had a blast, the food was wonderful and so was the company.

Collin wore these bunny ears the ENTIRE party.

Spring Break '13 or Bust!

My friend Amanda messaged me that on Instagram and it made me laugh out loud, ha! So I had to use it for this post.

This post is VERY photo heavy, but we had such a nice Spring Break and there was no other way around it! We celebrated Kyle's birthday Monday night. We cooked his favorite dinner and had cake. Happy Birthday to our sweet, sweet Daddy!

We had some beautiful weather over the week. One day we went to the park and played with the Reid boys. We planted some flowers and plants one day. When we weren't out in the nice weather, we watched cartoons and did some art projects ... in our pajamas of course :)

On Friday we headed south to the coast to the kids museum and to play on the beach. The museum/learning center was GREAT!! The kids loved it, and that included Ty. Brantlee asked if we could go back every day to climb in the rope tower. It was a really cool place for kids who like to "pretend play" which I think includes every child on the planet.

We had lunch and then headed out to the beach for a couple of hours. The kids were itching to get their feet wet and play in the water. The water was (obviously) frigid so that didn't last long. The sand was a hit though for everyone.

I LOVE this picture of these two. B was feeding Ty his dinner. She is giving him such a sweet look of adoration and I think his expression means "you are not feeding me fast enough!"

Well that was our spring break! Spring is here, and Easter is just around the corner. Very exciting and hard to believe at the same time!

8 Months

A few major milestones for this month. Here are some updates on Mr. Ty at 8 months:

• He is CRAWLING!! Be afraid, be very afraid. We were not ready for this. He is already into everything!! Getting dressed is such a challenge. Well, just about everything is a challenge these days ;)
• He pulled up the same day he started crawling. Sigh.
• He has one (and almost two) top teeth. 
• Bring on the real food! He tolerates baby food but is getting pretty good at handling other foods. 
• He takes about 4 6 oz bottles a day, usually. 
• He is happy as long as someone is present. You walk out of the room, and you are asking for trouble!
• He has absolutely no resemblance of a schedule. Bless his heart, he just sort of rolls with it most days. EXCEPT for bedtime, which is very consistent. 
• Is saying "baba" & "dada". 
• We think he is waving, but I can't decide if he means it, ha!

Won't stay still for long!

No School

The kids are on Spring Break as of yesterday afternoon, and I can't quite wrap my head around the fact that this school year is winding down! Collin posted the following sign on the wall today. I think he's a little excited to be out of school for a while :) We are working on our list of fun things to do for the next week or so.

It has been a whirlwind of a month. I've tried my best to keep up, whether it be through the real camera, cell phone, instagram, etc. Here is some of February in review...

Valentines day festivities included treats for friends, lots of candy, and class parties at school.

We also celebrated a few birthdays: Kooper, Poppa, and Poppy. (We are saving Poppy's for a little later :)

We decided age wasn't important this year :)

Ty is scooting around in the walker, CRAWLING (yikes!) and has turned 8 months. More on that a little later, as well. 

Spring soccer has started back up. Collin is VERY excited this season. B decided to just stick with gymnastics, which she is loving. 

Brantlee, aka Snow White, attended a princess birthday for her friend Raygan last weekend. 

We had a great trip to the zoo and park a couple of weeks ago. Brantlee and Kyle celebrated Donuts with Dads at school. I went with some friends to see Flashdance in NOLA. All of these things are documented on  my cell phone that I am about to break in half because it won't work with me tonight!

On March 5, the Lord called our sweet Paw Paw Bob home. We are heartbroken. But only for ourselves. We know he isn't. When I am able, I plan do a tribute post to this sweet & wonderful man. Our family covets your prayers :)
