Visiting

We could get used to this fabulous weather! Except it makes us all want to play too hard and never rest. The joke at our house is that we need the week to recuperate from the weekend! Only kidding. But we are seriously always on the go with visiting and keeping busy on the weekends.

Friday night we went over to the Pierce's house for  a long overdue play date. The kids love these boys so much, and I really don't think they wanted to come home- ha! Obviously B doesn't have a problem making herself comfortable with sweet Harrison and Hudson.

They were all glued to the movie.

Saturday morning we got outside as soon as possible and basically stayed out there all day.

Brantlee is becoming such the little mommy these days. She has liked baby dolls for quite a while, but now she mothers anything and everything she can. She doesn't discriminate! Even trains and dinosaurs get some loving attention from Mommy Brantlee.

Here she is strolling Strawberry Shortcake and one of Collin's many dinos :)

Collin snuck off with Poppy to do some manly things like buy diesel for the tractor etc. They knew not to return empty-handed. Poppy bought them both some sour "snacks." Look at Stella thinking she might get lucky and get a piece.

Collin is such a good sport and rides B around in the jeep as much as she wants.

Saturday evening, we grilled out at our house with Lolly and Poppy. The kids were being so sweet and playing so independently. When this happens, we eventually discover much later what exactly they have been up to...
HAHAHA!! I guess they found a stash of something! Collin keeps asking me what this and other related items are. How do you answer this question? Seriously, I would love some advice. Right now I just change the subject and try to hide my items better.

After church Sunday, we all went over to Casey and Derek's newly purchased house!! Whoo Hoo! While everyone was working and painting, I took these 3 little monkeys visiting.
All loaded up in Casey's car.

Reading with Pammie at MeeMaw and PawPaw's house. They would stay here all day.

Then we headed out to Mimi's house. B picked everyone some flowers.

Karsen, Kaden, Collin and Fischer played with "swords" and fought monsters.

It was such a nice, fun weekend, and we hated for it to end. But, today is not just any other Monday. Tonight we are attending a Disney Character Dinner. (It's a benefit for the American Cancer Society.) We are suppose to meet and eat with several characters tonight. I sure hope this deal is as exciting as these 2 kiddos think it is going to be. Pictures to come...

Sunshine!!

Oh my, how this sunshine and warm weather are giving us spring fever!! It has been so nice lately, and I think we've spent every single afternoon outside. I'm pretty sure this weather is just a tease, and we will be freezing again sometime soon. But surely spring isn't too far away.

Playing outside brings out the MOST in our imaginations. It's so fun to see Collin and Brantlee playing so hard and running around instead of being cooped up inside.

Stella certainly doesn't mind the attention that playing outside brings.

We love to be outside when Daddy gets home early!

I love to sneak around with the camera and catch these 2 doing their own things sometimes. I especially love it when you can overhear little conversations they have with themselves.

I honestly snuck up on this nap the other day. Apparently, this is result of playing so hard outside.

Brantlee was SO into this movie the other night. She didn't even notice me.

Not exactly sure what Collin is doing in this picture, but I thought it was cute anyway.

Okay... long story to explain these last two pictures. Today, Casey kept Brantlee while I worked because Mom had a dr. appointment. And Collin was at school. I had B dressed in a cute little girlie outfit for the day. Well naturally Brantlee spills something (I think it was bubbles) ALL over her clothes. Aunt Casey had no other choice but to put her in Fischer's clothes while her other ones dried.

Now we all know that B is not the girliest of girls, no matter how hard I try to make her that way. She is just plain rough and tough, she loves to get dirty, and would wear her tennis shoes all day every day if I let her... even to church.  Shoes with rhinestones don't impress her ;)

All that to say, when her clothes dried, she refused to change back into them. So this is what I saw when I picked her up today:

And she loved it! And thank you to sweet Casey for helping us out today! I promise to get these clothes back to you soon (if B doesn't see me get rid of them- ha)

A special birthday

Sunday night about 15 of us from the family gathered at Mi Casita to surprise Poppy for his birthday. (His actual birthday was Tuesday.) It was the big 5-0!! Mom and Dad will also celebrate 30 years of marriage this year, so this is a BIG year for them. They are actually going on a cruise in March. They certainly deserve it!

Anyway, we were so pleased to actually pull off a surprise party. My father is the man who guesses EVERY single gift that we've ever given him. We just knew he knew about the party.

We waited and waited for him to arrive.

And we waited some more...

Then he arrived!!! And he was clueless!

He never saw it coming- ha! Good one, Mom ;)

Of course we sang "happy birthday" and let him blow out the candles.

And just when he thought he was off the hook and over the embarrassment, there was more...

More festive singing!! ha ha

And then he was anointed with cream from his birthday dessert. This is a Mi Casita tradition. And maybe all Mexican restaurants do this?? Fun times!

We love you very much Poppy!

Valentine's Day All Weekend

Is it Valentine's Day??? We have been celebrating it for the last 4 days it seems! We have had lots and lots of fun playing outside (finally), getting ready for Valentine's Day, and celebrating several birthdays. Warning: Lots of pictures...
Decorating cookies Thursday night

Aren't they beautiful;)

B is into wearing panties... but not always HER panties. I caught her on the rocking horse wearing mine- ha!

Friday night we went to a 2nd birthday party for this handsome & sweet little boy Kooper

While we were there, we ran into this little man- Luke. He is so beautiful it hurts! His mommy, Danielle, better watch out.

Saturday morning we were so happy to enjoy the great weather. B of course found her own clothes for the day... the same shirt we wear almost everyday. Oh, and notice the pj's. Dora, of course!

While outside we practiced our flips and tricks.

And  Collin did some tricks that made mommy a little nervous :/

All ready for a day outside! Little Diva.

We celebrated Collin sleeping all night by himself in his room for 2 nights in a row. Actually, we are still scratching our heads about this. We are updating his room with a dino theme, and he has been so excited about this! He watches a movie and happily goes to sleep just like a big boy. We honestly can't believe it.

We have been opening Valentine's "happies" like it's Christmas again. (yes, we are a little spoiled) We also have eaten more candy than any human ever should.

We made treats for our classmates and church friends.

Did I mention we've eaten an excessive amount of candy?? B has the proof with chocolate all over her face.

And more playing outside in the FABULOUS weather!

Last night, we celebrated a very special man turning 50 years old!! Yes, Poppy is a mere child in the Grandfather Club- ha. Even though he thinks he is so old. He was so surprised at his Mi Casita surprise party. That will be another post. Also, Happy Birthday to sweet Poppa!! (Whose birthday is today!)  We will celebrate his birthday on Thursday. Whew!

We hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day and gets to spend time with the people they love.
