Memphis Trip & Wedding

This past weekend our whole family took a trip to Memphis for our cousin Tandy and his new wife Beth's wedding. We decided that we would make a mini-vacation out of the trip. The trip itself was so much fun. We visited downtown Memphis and the zoo. We swam in the heated indoor pool, and even boogied down at the wedding. On the other hand, the 5 hour ride to and from Memphis can only be summed up by one word - TORTURE!!!! Collin did great riding, but not poor Brantlee. Being strapped in a seat for that amount of time was beyond her comprehension. And just for the record, she slept 30 minutes on the ride to there and 0 minutes on the ride home. Need I say more?? Regardless of the pain and suffering we all endured in the car, we are glad we went... that's what we are telling ourselves anyway. I have posted lots and lots of pictures. I just couldn't decide which ones to include!

On Beale Street!

Funny story: We thought it would be a great idea for us to all go downtown and eat some good Memphis bbq. But all the restaurants were either so crowded or didn't have high chairs. Plus the babies were exhausted. So we grabbed them a corn dog and went back to our hotel without eating! We ended up ordering from the hotel restaurant and eating in bed. Oh well, at least we got a cute picture. Note: Aunt Casey was with us too, but I must have missed her posing with Fischer :(Strolling through downtown.
It was such a beautiful day!

Enjoying a snack at a park downtown

In front of the FedEx Forum
A little disappointed that the balls don't move - ha!

First swimsuit of the season! Check out those flip-flops, too.

The Memphis Zoo!!!

Poor Lolly got no rest on this adventure. Brantlee is obsessed with her and whines for her if she is anywhere in sight.
Isn't this so sweet?? Collin and Fischer adore each other!

They all loved the chimpanzee.

The popsicle that saved the day

Naturally, the farm animals were the most popular attraction. Here they are admiring a real "moo cow."

Getting ready for the wedding
Princess Brantlee loved her new dress.

My handsome man

It is important to note here that Collin sat through an entire (partially Catholic) wedding ceremony with my parents. I was so proud and shocked!! Fishcher and Brantlee watched the wedding from a sound-proof "crying room" with us. So we got to see and hear the wedding, but thank goodness the congregation couldn't hear us!
Brantlee danced and socialized a little at the reception. I think she is actually sticking out her tongue at someone in this picture- ha!

Fischer showed off his latest moves too!
Of the three, Collin was the most excited about the music. I don't think he left the dance floor the whole time we were there (which wasn't that long, but still.) He would have danced all night if we had let him.
What a fun, memorable, and exhausting weekend! Congratulations Tandy and Beth! It was such a nice wedding. We also really enjoyed seeing family that we usually only hear about but rarely see.
Another very important thing happened on this trip. Brantlee turned 18 months old on Friday!!! That's a year and a half!! I can't believe it. This milestone will have its own post very soon.

Love all these pics! Loving B in that swimsuit! Sorry about the miserable ride though.
