Our Disney World Trip

We went on an amazing trip to Disney World last week, and it was a trip we will never forget! Kyle and I had both been to Disney World a couple of times when we were younger, but there is nothing like seeing it and experiencing it through the eyes of your children, especially when they are this age. Sooo much fun! There are very few things we would trade to see the expressions on their little faces and the excitement in their eyes when they would see something new. Priceless and pure preciousness!

This was a big undertaking for our little family of four. We had never been this far away from home with little ones. We drove, which had its moments but honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside resort, which we loved and would do again. I took nearly 500 pictures!! (How could I NOT?) But somehow managed to narrow it down to 21 for the sake of the blog :) Both kids are still talking about the trip. Collin asked repeatedly why we couldn't just live in Disney World, ha. But he decided home wasn't so bad once he got here. Here is a very abbreviated version of the trip...

Our first 2 days were spent in Magic Kingdom. And excuse the cheesiness, but it really was magical ;) ;) We rode everything they would let us on, and we saw several shows twice because we loved them so much.

On our second day there we had lunch with the princesses at Cinderella's castle. Priceless is all I can say :)

It was pretty chilly during the day and downright cold the first 2 nights.  We bundled up and watched the fireworks, which were nothing short of amazing. My favorite part, I think!

Whew! Disney will wear you out! 

Day 3 was spent at Howllywood Studios, where we saw some awesome shows, including Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic that night. WOW!

Day 4 was Valentine's Day in Animal Kingdom. We had breakfast at the Tusker House with Donald and some other friends. A delicious start to the day. Our Robin Hood and Princess loved it!

We saw lots of beautiful animals on the safari ride and got some great pictures, too!

Brantlee was transformed into a Diva Princess. I don't even want to talk about how old she looked after this. She had the choice on the color of her hair piece, and of course she chose pink!! I really think after this experience we noticed a little extra spunk in her step, ha. (As if she needed anymore ;) 

And our sweet Collin became a pirate!! It was such a cool experience. He got all kinds of pirate gear, said a pirate oath, and got a certificate with his pirate name, "Will Goodhawk." It was serious business.

We debated on whether or not to go to Epcot, but we are so glad we did. We all really enjoyed it!

We discovered the splash pad just before leaving, which may or may not have been the best part. They were completely soaked but loved every minute of it!

By the end of the week, the weather was perfect and warm enough for swimming (especially since the pool was heated). We took full advantage of it and spent a long morning relaxing in the water and sun. It was much needed!!

We debated and debated on whether or not this was the right time to go to Disney (kids are young, me being pregnant, such a long way with just 2 adults, etc.) but we honestly have not one single regret. And we are already thinking of when we can logistically go back, ha! We are so, so grateful for this experience with our kids. It was worth every penny and worth every minute strapped in the car :) We will cherish the memories made!
